Private trips

A group of 7 or more people wanting to register for one of our scheduled trips to Latin America can request to have it be a private trip. Our trips are designed around groups and is a great way to save money on the total trip expenses. This only applies as long as no one else has booked that specific trip. Because of this we recommend booking the trip your interested in as soon as possible. We do adhere to a strict payment and cancellation policy for all private trips which you can view here.

Custom trips

All trips provided by Ride Local had to start somewhere, ours was from the desire to explore new places with our mountain bikes. We thoroughly enjoy helping create your ideal bike trip and connecting your friends and family to new parts of the world. Together we can build a custom itinerary built around the wants and needs for groups of 2-10 people. We’ll make your trip easy so you can go enjoy the trails with good company. Due to the logistics of custom international bike trips they must be booked at least 4 months in advance. Group sizes must be a minimum of 2 people, and a maximum of 10 people. Also, certain locations are only offered during specific months of the year. We adhere to a strict payment and cancellation policy which you can view here.

Cusco and the Sacred Valley

Big mountain riding doesn’t get much better than the Sacred Valley.  Add in Cusco and you have an extensive amount of trails to ride. The long steep descents here are mostly on Inca trails passing many old ruins. Starting most descents at 14,000+ft you’ll log massive amount of vertical quickly.

Custom Trip Add-Ons 

  • Machu Picchu.  Visit one of the 7 Wonders of The World. Take the train along the Urubamba River to and from Aguas Calientes, from where you’ll access the astounding Machu Picchu Sanctuary. 

    • $300 USD / person

  • Ausangate Trek.  Do a 2 to 4 day bike packing adventure into the Vilcanota range.  Passing over 3 passes prepare to reach elevations over 16,000ft/4,800m.  Along the way you'll enjoy massive views of glaciers and glacial lakes as we ride past the sacred mountain of Ausangate.  Camping along hot springs and beautiful turquoise lakes, this is experiencing the Sacred Andes to the fullest.  The highlight is of course the last day, where we'll drop over 7,000ft/2,120m on amazing Peruvian singletrack.

    • $600 USD / person

  • Salkantay Trek.  Load up early in the morning as we make our way to the Vilcabamba range.  Packing bikes, gear and even ourselves onto mules and horses.  We'll make our way to the top of Salkantay pass at 15,200ft / 4,600m taking in stellar views of one of the most prominent peaks in Peru, Salkantay mountain  (20,574ft/6,271m).  Descending off the other side of the pass, this will take all day.  Starting the ride surrounded by glaciers we'll descend 7,000ft/2,120m over 18mi/28km into the high jungle mountains of the Amazon.  Finish the day relaxing at one of our favorite natural hot springs in Santa Teresa.  The next day, go visit the Machu Picchu Sanctuary.

Huaraz and the Cordillera Blanca

Located between two massive mountain ranges this is a very special place in Peru.  Heading northeast of Lima we'll venture into the highest mountain range in the Peruvian Andes, the Cordillera Blanca.  Unexplored by mountain bikes Ride Local is privileged to offer trips to this ridiculously amazing place.  The mountains here are truly humbling, and the trails even more so.  Descending extremely rocky trails surrounded by 20,000ft peaks, prepare for massive technical descents down the tallest mountains in Peru.

  • An exclusive Ride Local trip, Huaraz is nestled in the rugged mountain region of Ancash.  Unexplored by mountain bikes, the mountains and trails here are a truly humbling experience.

  • Undoubtedly delivers some of the best panoramic views of some of the most beautiful, and highest mountains in the world.  We’ll ride amongst the highest region of mountains in the Andes, and the second highest mountain range in the world.

  • The Cordillera Blanca (aka The White Range) boasts more than 200+ peaks ranging from 15,000ft/4,500m to 22,200ft/6,700m in height.  Has over 700+ glaciers and several high alpine lakes. It is also home to the highest tropical mountain in the world, Huascaran.

  • Explore the lost and found trails of the Ancash Region in Peru.  With Peru’s best team of expert guides, on and off the bike.

  • Mostly all the trails we’ll ride are in remote locations at high elevations. Down extremely technical trails with lots of exposure and even more rocks.  Yes, rocks are an actual highlight of this area, beware!

Custom Trip Add-Ons

  • Santa Cruz Trek.  This is a 2 day venture up and over the famous Santa Cruz pass.  A popular trekking route, the first day is comprised of pedaling and pushing our bikes to base camp at 13,500ft/4,100m.  That night sleep near a stunning lagoon as we rest up for day two. Enjoy the morning views of Santa Cruz mountain (20,535ft/6,2598m) and the tallest mountain in Peru, Huascaran rising up to 22,205ft/6,768m.  Making the final ascent to Punta Union Pass (15,675ft/4,750m), the route turns down as we descend 6,100ft/1,850m.  Get ready for some of the most beautiful mountain scenery in Peru as we navigate this extremely rocky and technical trail to the Cashapampa trailhead.
